the goings-on of the recent past:
#149; new sonic youth, status: LEAKED!.
holy omfg this is good. like awesomely good. like goo-era good. “What we Know” is deliriously delicious and the finale (“message the history”) is like blonde redhead mating with the kills on vicodin.
• jason lytle – a solo album that pretty much sounds like [...]
hey dudes and retards, here’s the scoop today

mstrkrft’s latest album, fist of god is this: just okay. there’s some pukish radio garbage and also some pretty catchy dancelines with ballbusting beats, but overall nothing too enticing.
anyway who cares about that because look at this horrible album cover. possibly the worst ever and definitely the worst of this young year.
if it is drizzling icy pellets of rain and you are walking in a town where no one is around but there are a few lights on in a few of the houses, and the few cars that are driving through the town are in fast motion, and there is a streetlamp flickering on the [...]

A lot of great albums came out in 2001, such as The Appleseed Cast’s atmospheric double album, Low Level Owl, a stunning return to form from The Brian Jonestown Massacre (Bravery, Repetition and Noise), outstanding albums from Frank Black & the Catholics, Juno, Moonbabies, my favorite New Order record, Get Ready, The Faint’s best, [...]
